Guenter Burr Show A Success

December 01 2008

Guenter Burr's show opening, held last Wednesday at Utata, was a magnificent success. Soprano Susan Dworkin gave a lovely performance, the catering by Cocoa Pesto was sublime, the wine from Gaspereau was lovely and the art ... well, the art was, in a word, gorgeous. And brilliant. Okay, that's two words - but if you were there or have seen the show then you know that it really deserves at least two words. About 160 members and their guests chatted with Guenter, nibbled on delicacies and admired the works of art.

Special guest Lloyd Smith, Town Crier and all around good-guy, performed the auction which raised $350 for the SPCA (Oh yes, and we had kittens there, too! Cutest things you ever saw, I tell you).

Special thanks to Guenter and Inge Burr who are consumate professionals and a true pleasure to work with, dance teacher Katie Harvey who helped out all day long to help make the night a success, "The Mom", Lorraine Purcell for her tireless and cheerful assistance, Scott Geddes of Cocoa Pesto for providing seamless and perfect catering, the Red Letter folks for opening their doors to our guests, our members who came out and supported Guenter and the Gallery, Susan Dworkin who sings like a dream, Katherine Woodman for bringing the kittens, Jennifer Daniels of Daniels Flower Shop for providing amazing floral arrangements and Doug Edgar of Falmouth Kitchens and Cabinetry for the on-the-spot carpentry services and frame making.
